TRAILBLAZER CHORUS II

COURSE DESCRIPTION

TRAILBLAZER CHORUS II (year-long course, prerequisite: previous choir experience)

Trailblazer Chorus II at Travis Ranch is composed of male and female students from all grades.  There is no audition necessary to be part of this group, but singers in this choir must have had previous experience performing as part of a choir.  Trailblazer II performs in our Winter, Spring and Pop Concerts.  Trailblazer II also participates in our District Vocal Festival in March and performs at Knott’s Berry Farm in May.  Male students also attend the District Men’s Festival in February.

Students in this choir will continue to work on developmentally appropriate healthy vocal technique while building basic musicianship skills like sight-singing, singing in parts in small groups, and audition technique.  Repertoire covers a wide range of genres, cultures and time periods, from early sacred motets to more modern Broadway show tunes.  Students also become familiar with performance etiquette, professional deportment, time management, and the cooperative learning environment necessary to create beautiful choral music.
